In this guide, you will learn how to create a delegate as well as assign delegate access.
Note:
- In cases where advisors share a joint code, an advisor is able to add a delegate access to the other advisor so that they may toggle between their view and the joint advisor's view.
- Delegate access may also be given to an assistant or an associate so that they may switch from their primary user view to their affiliated advisor's view.
Creating a Delegate
Process:
- To add a delegate access, click on the head and shoulders icon at the top right corner followed by Settings.
- On this screen, click on Manage Delegates. Here you will see how many remaining delegates you are able to assign, currently, two delegates are provided per advisor. Proceed by clicking Add a Delegate.
- Add the first and last name of the delegate followed by the email and then click on Add Delegate.
Assigning Delegate Access
Process:
- Once a delegate has been added, you may switch to a delegate view easily within CapIntel. Proceed by clicking on the head and shoulders icon at the top right of the screen, followed by Switch Account.
- Within the pop-up screen, click on the Choose Account box to expand the delegates.
- Select the desired delegate followed by Switch Account.
- Once selected, a green bar at the top of the screen will appear indicating you are working as the selected delegate.
- Ensure to return to the primary user's view before logging out.
- Proceed by clicking on the head and shoulder's icon, followed by Switch Account, select the user, and then Switch Account.
Note:
- Any work completed within the view will not be visible once switching back to the primary user's view.
- Within the delegate's view, you may proceed with all functionalities.
- Currently, whichever user you are logged in under (whether it be primary user or secondary/delegate user), when exiting the application, the next time you log into CapIntel, you will be logged in under that user.
